CO-OWN
A PRINCE SONG
Co-own an original song written and performed by Prince that was part of his original set of songs that secured his contract with Warner Brothers back at the start of his career.

What You Are Buying
You will be purchasing a share of ownership of this one song written by Prince (and myself) equally divided amongst all the people who also purchase a share. You will co-own this song with me. Your name will be registered and displayed here at this site showing your co-ownership in this song.

How I Own The Song
I co-wrote 3 of the 4 songs on Prince's demo tape (including his first hit song) that got him his Warner Brothers contract. Prince wrote the music, I wrote the words. Prince's first album featured a song I wrote but it omitted my credits. To settle this, Prince contractually signed over to me 100% of one of his songs in exchange for the one he used of mine.

Future Revenue
Any future revenue from this song will be donated to the Paisley Park to help maintain his studio, his legacy and his memory, you will not make money with this. I simply want to share ownership in this Prince song with all his fans.

The Lyrics
(We'll) Make It Through The Storm
(C) 1977, Chris Moon, All Rights Reserved
So now you want to leave m
but why you will not say
then dont tell me why
just tell me that you'll never go away
oh dont give up now girl
we've been through so much more
oh cant you see you're the only thing
that I'm livin' for
The worlds a cold and empty place
without a love to keep you warm
oh, oh hold me in your arms tonight
don't you know we'll make it
make it through the storm.
Our love is pain and pleasure
but i keep holding on
cause i never want to lose your love
oh help me make it strong
just hold me tight, i'm yours tonight
love will keep me warm
hold me in your arms tonight
we'll make it through the storm
The worlds such an empty place
without a love to keep you warm
oh, oh hold me in your arms tonight
don't you know we'll make it
make it through the storm
yeah, yeah, yeah.
We gonna make it
we gonna make it
make it through the storm
the wind, the rain
the heartaches
the pain
we're gonna make it
make it through the storm

Writing Songs With Prince
I discovered Prince when he was just 16 at my recording studio MOONSOUND STUDIOS in Minneapolis, MN back in 1977. He and I would sit on a stool across from each other and for a year sit together, write songs and then record them. I wrote the words, he sang and played the music.
Back then, when Prince was just 16, I wrote the lyrics to "Make It Through The Storm" for him. He then wrote the music. The song became one of the main demo songs we used to showcase the artist and get him signed to Warner Brothers Records.
This Is Real.
